32 Week Ultrasound

I went and had my 32 week ultrasound today and Miss Munchkin looks GREAT!! I got a couple very cute pictures of her little face to send to my IPs, her cheeks look chubby and adorable already!

My blood pressure was 98/70 which is a little low for me, but they don't really care about my vitals at this clinic (the Maternal Fetal Diagnostic Center)! My cervix is nice and long still which is always good to hear.

She's measuring right on track, weighs in at about 4lbs 1oz, her fluid levels were great, her heart sounded great. The tech was nice, and talked throughout the scan telling me what she was looking at. Miss Munchkin was very active throughout the u/s and was just wiggling all over. She was waving at us too!

Oh, and the great news - they confirmed that she IS HEAD DOWN!!! I thought so, I haven't felt that reocurring pain in my ribs for about a week, but I was so glad to have them confirm.

The doctor who reviewed everything after the scan said her weight is great, and she's gained about 6 ounces a week since my last u/s, so all looks well with her growth and development! I will go again in 4 more weeks and hopefully that will be the last u/s and then she will be here!!!
I can't believe that!! Sometimes July 25th seems like an eternity away, and then other times I just want to hit the pause button and slow it all down. I am so anxious for delivery day and finally seeing her with her parents though, so I don't want to slow things down too much. :)

I am starting to have a more difficult time with sleeping, and am experiencing frequent wake ups in the night for a multitude of reasons at this point (mainly leg cramps, hip pain/numbness, having to use the bathroom and other times waking up for no apparent reason with my mind racing). I'm hoping and praying this isn't an every night occurance or I will be a mess half way through each week! I have discovered that eating two calcium chews (I use the Kroger brand of Viactiv) helps with the leg cramps which is good - some of those have been vicious!

That's it for now - I have an OB appointment with the midwife next Monday - I have a few things to ask her about, but I'm sure I'll hear that its all normal third trimester fun, fun, fun! :)

30 week OB Appt Update!

Yesterday was my 30 week OB appointment, and everything went just fine. No protein in my urine, BP was 100/62, weight gain is ok - a little ahead of schedule but the OB said it was ok, just to keep an eye on it.

I got the official results from my GTT test, I "passed with flying colors" which was good to hear. I don't think I was really worried about it, but you never know, especially after the gastric bypass, how my body is really processing sugar and I wasn't sure if that would affect the test results.

Miss Munchkin is still breech, but they don't worry about it until around 36 weeks. If she is still breech at that point, we can discuss doing a version but he said there are risks involved. I really don't know much about them. I'm hoping and praying she'll head on down south in the next few weeks and it will be a non-issue.

We got to listen to her heartbeat for a minute or two, she sounds good and strong. He was watching her squirm around while he followed her around with the doppler. She is such an active little girl!

I asked about their policy on induction, just to find out if it was even an option for us and was told they don't even discuss them until you're 39 weeks, and they schedule them for 41 weeks. The hospital won't accept an induction date prior to 40 weeks. So that sort of settles that!! I am happy with that though, I really want to just let nature take its course and let her bake as long as she needs to bake! I'm really hoping for this whole experience to be MUCH more natural than my son's birth. I was so unaware of my options then, and I want to be in control of this delivery and let my body do what it is so very capable of doing.

So, my next OB appointment is in about 2.5 weeks, and I have an ultrasound in 2 weeks. Today I'm taking a Vacation Day from work and we're getting ready for my SIL's wedding tomorrow! The ladies in the wedding party are going out to have their nails painted, and I was invited along since I'm singing; we'll head out around 4pm. Kenneth has drill today but should be home around noon which is good, he'll have plenty of time to pack his Blues and his own bag. I haven't seen him in dress Blues in so long!! I can't wait to see him in them tomorrow! :)

29 weeks!! OB Appt & Ultrasound Update

I can't believe I forgot to pop back in here and update after my two appointments last week!! OOPS!! (Can I blame it on prego brain?)

I had an OB appointment on Wednesday and had the lovely glucose tolerance test first (after weigh in, peeing in a cup, and blood pressure check). I felt pretty icky after that for a few hours. I have yet to get a phone call, so I'm assuming I passed! :)

Everything was fine with my b/p and weight gain. They sent me to a room and I waited a few minutes for the midwife, who had two apprentices with her. They found the baby's heartbeat; though it sure took a minute or two (I think she was REALLY bouncing off the walls after that glucose drink)! Her heartbeat sounded great. Then the midwife measured my belly and said it was just right, and then she was feeling around and declared the baby breech. It seemed like she stuck her hands down into my belly and grabbed hold of the baby's head to show the two girls with her what she was feeling! It felt pretty odd and uncomfortable to me!!

I had my blood draw at the 1 hour mark and then headed on home!

The next day was my 28 week ultrasound at the Maternal Fetal Diagnostic Center. The tech took lots of pictures of the baby's brain, located her kidneys, measured bones, etc. Then she switched to 3-D and tried to get a good head shot. I am so bummed she didn't actually print the photo, because the picture was ADORABLE but she wasn't happy with it because Miss Munchkin had her foot in her face! I thought it was priceless!! They did confirm that she was indeed breech.

I've been feeling lots of flipping sensations the last two days and am hoping that was her rotating herself around. I have another OB appointment on the 17th and then and ultrasound on the 30th.

Miss Munchkin weighed in around 2lbs 7oz this time, so a gain of 1llb 1oz in 4 weeks. They seemed happy with that - she's in about the 50th percentile. She was kicking at the u/s tech the whole time... she is so responsive to pressure!!

I keep looking at my calendar and just knowing May is going to FLY by!! This month is CRAZY busy!!

Kenneth will be leaving in early June for a month and hopefully that will give me lots of quiet time to just reflect and enjoy the last part of the pregnancy. I think I am mentally ready! I'm excited, and just can't wait for delivery day, and finally seeing her with her parents!
