15w4d Happy Memorial Day

Well this weekend hasn't exactly gone like I'd hoped, but that's ok. It's still a three day weekend and it turns out that's a very good thing because I am definitely sick. I woke up Saturday morning with a bunch of gunk  coating my throat and generally "not feeling well"; I've been running a low grade temp since then as well. I feel so tired and its making me crazy! I hate feeling like this so much, and I feel like there's nothing I can do to make it any better!

Last night I finally caved and took some sudafed and tylenol because I was feeling lousy. I think I slept ok, but I still feel totally out of it today.

We got some work done on the garage yesterday mid-day and then I was wiped after that. I tried not to over do it, but maybe I did anyway. I am glad we got something done, but hate if its contributed to me feeling lousy even longer.

I'm taking it easy today, again, but am tired of feeling so out of it and feeling like I'm accomplishing nothing in my entire 3-days off! At least I've managed to cook most every meal. We had biscuits & gravy for breakfast yesterday (well they boys did, I don't eat sausage gravy because I don't really like it) and made pancakes this morning. We grilled brats for lunch yesterday and I prepped ribs in the crock pot which are in the fridge now and will get finished on the grill and eaten for dinner tonight. We had leftovers for dinner last night and for lunch today. I made a huge batch of Sweet & Sour meatballs for Saturday evening; I think one of Kenneth's favorite things I make - it's a recipe from his mom.

I'm glad we're down to 1.5 more weeks 'til ultrasound day! I cannot wait to get in again and see how this little bean is growing and I'm praying soooo hard the previa has moved. I haven't had any spotting and no pain so I think those are all good signs. I've had a few fun "bumps" and nudges from baby the last couple days. I seem to be able to feel them the best when I first wake up and am on my back for a couple minutes with my hand on my belly. Just a couple minutes ago I got a couple little nudges low on the right hand side.

Kenneth is meeting with someone today who wanted to look at his truck that's for sale - fingers crossed it goes well! I'm ready to not have TWO old trucks sitting in my back yard - like I don't feel like enough of a redneck with one!! :p

Good bye May and Hello June! Can't believe another month has come and gone already!! We're just about half way through 2010!!

Your pregnancy: 15 weeks

How your baby's growing:

Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but she is forming taste buds. Finally, if you have an ultrasound this week, you may be able to find out whether your baby's a boy or a girl! (Don't be too disappointed if it remains a mystery, though. Nailing down your baby's sex depends on the clarity of the picture and on your baby's position. He or she may be modestly curled up or turned in such a way as to "hide the goods.")
I think its so funny that they compare baby size to food in all of these updates - especially for poor pregnant ladies who already spend so much of their waking time thinking about food... now you want to eat the thing the child growing inside you has just been compared to...!! YIKES!! That's not right!! Ok, I don't really want to eat an apple right this second. But you can bet when I open my fridge when I get home and see the drawer full of apples, I'll be thinking - "Hey, baby bean is about that big right now!!"

I am praying I'm about to the size now that people realize I'm actually pregnant and not just gaining weight all in my stomach. I wore a dress today that makes the bump pretty obvious and I hope a bunch of people aren't walking around thinking "MAN, Rebekah needs to loose some weight"! :D If they are, sigh, oh well my bruised ego will have to deal.

It is amazing to be at our 15 week point, and to realize we only have another 4 days left in the month of May! June is almost here!! Next week we have Monday off for Memorial Day and then I'm taking Friday off for Kent's 5th Grade Graduation ceremony!! Ack!! I can't believe my baby is going to be in Middle School in a couple short months!!

I'm so tired - I've not been sleeping well at all this whole week and apparently I keep waking Kenneth up to. I had a really hard time getting comfortable and keep waking up on my back which I'm not supposed to be sleeping on anymore. Not sure what the deal is, but if it keeps up I'll definitely have to ask my OB about it at the next appointment. Two more weeks 'til our next sneak peek! Yay! :D

14w6d - Maruchan Induced Flash Back

When I was at the grocery store a week ago, baby informed me we needed Maruchan Instant Lunch cup-o-noodles...!?! So, being the good surro-mommy I am, I indulged the baby and bought a couple. I can't really remember the last time I ate these. Again, thinking my sodium is probably going to go through the roof soon!! (At least we try to balance out the sodium indulgences by eating cartons of strawberries and pounds of cherries on pretty much a weekly basis... that's my story and I'm sticking to it)!! In any event, I finished breakfast almost 3 hours ago and I have another couple hours until our Picnic Committee meeting with lunch from Jason's Deli (YUMMY veggie soup!!) and I knew I needed something to eat as my stomach was starting to chew on itself again. So cup o noodles it was! I heated it up and I'm sitting here and as I take that first (HOT) bite of noodles I had a flashback to 9th grade!!

For a short period of time I wasn't going to school before we moved to Africa and during that time I was hired to sort of baby-sit a kid just a couple years younger than me in the afternoons, after school until his dad got home (single dad). I did light housework - laundry, dishes, sweeping, vacuuming - and not much else. Oh, I think I decorated their Christmas tree for them too! I don't know why, but the noodles took me right back to that house - I vaguely remember eating a cup o noodles at the house and feeling guilty about eating something out of their pantry. So, there you go, eat some noodles and have a wave of nostalgia from long ago and far away...

Last night for the second night in a row my stomach seized up after dinner with massive cramps and pain that lasted for hours. I was uncomfortable after lunch, but thought it was getting better, but after dinner I was in pain. I cannot figure out what it is that sets it off, but part of me is highly interested in the idea of going to a very boring/bland diet and seeing if that makes any difference. I'm beginning to think perhaps its beef related (we had steak tacos last night), but I'm not really sure yet. It helps me leave food alone though, that's for sure!!

I'm glad we're half way through the week and so excited to hit 15 weeks tomorrow! :) Can't wait for my BabyCenter e-mail! :)

14w5d - Cruising Right Along

Not too much to report today! I have been feeling more baby activity lately which is exciting! Nothing on a regular basis, but definitely more often. There was one point over the weekend where I felt all sorts of "swimming" sensations going on, like baby was doing water aerobics or something! And on Sunday morning I had woken up to a very distinct kick - that was the first time I actually felt something like a kick and not just a rolling sensation, so that was neat!

Been feeling pretty good! Still have off moments during the day from time to time. Allergies kick my butt every now and then (yesterday I had a massive sinus headache that lasted a couple hours until I finally gave in and took a dose of sudafed). Last night after dinner my stomach was in a ton of pain for some reason, something I ate made me bloat and that hurt REALLY bad. I never know for sure what causes those things when they happen, I am just glad its not happening as often as it was in the first trimester!

Almost to 15 weeks, and then 2 more weeks until our next ultrasound! Yay! I can't wait to hear if the previa has moved and most excitingly see if we can find out what L&N are having!! Woo hoo!! :D I am  very hopeful that the previa has moved, since I've not had any more of those aches I'd experienced a few times prior to that ultrasound very low, and still no bleeding which is great!

There's my belly pic from Sunday at 14w3d. I think I look almost exactly the same as 12 weeks, maybe even a little smaller but that is OK with me!! Baby is only 3-4 inches long, so I don't need to be growing too much yet! :)

Your pregnancy: 14 weeks

How your baby's growing:

This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb.

In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.
Grow baby grow!! Amazing to think this little one is just the size of a lemon and yet all of the capabilities that tiny body has! So cool! :)

I'm feeling a lot of tightness today down low, guess things are stretching and growing a bit more today! I told my IM about baby becoming a future McDonald's addict and she said there's nothing wrong with chicken nuggets, they have them often... so I guess I have permission??! :D

Today is our tenant appreciation lunch, and I'm so looking forward to eating in an hour! I am starving today! I've already eaten a muffin sandwich, and then a bowl of oatmeal and I'm already hungry again. I am thinking about having a small PB and Honey sandwich to hold me over. It's like I am having growth spurts along with baby or something!

Off to finish up the proposal that has sucked away the last couple days of my life!! :)

13w6d - Must have nuggets...

Ok, this baby and I are going to have to have a heart to heart if this craving keeps up. Dill pickles and McDonald's Chicken Nuggets smothered in Sweet & Sour Sauce?!?!?! My sodium level is going to go through the ROOF!! I keep craving them, all the time. Most of the time I do not give in, but last night I had to work late and didn't leave the office until about 6:00pm and by about 6:30 my stomach was gnawing on itself and making me crazy, and the only thing I could think about was sweet & sour sauce and chicken nuggets. So, I stopped and I got some, and ate them all.... mmm... they are evil. McDonald's is evil! I hate eating fast food!! Usually if I have to eat out, I'll stop at Subway and get a sandwich with lots of fresh veggies on it, and I don't feel quite so guilty, but there's nothing at McDonald's I can eat and not feel guilty about. So, here's hoping this crazy craving goes away soon, considering I've had it for well over a month now I don't have high hopes, but one can dream!

We're 14 weeks tomorrow - YAY!! And down to 3 weeks 'til our next ultrasound and seeing "L" again for our appointment. I'm so looking forward to that again! Fingers are extra crossed that "L" will get to find out if she's having a boy or a girl at this next appointment! :) I'm hoping we get a more experienced tech (and one who doesn't feel the need to bruise my stomach to try to convince the baby to move!) It will be nice to get the bloodwork done and be that much closer to getting screening results back. Staying hopeful and positive for great news from that!

Last night I found out our local Animal Shelter is having to close down for repairs and pest control, and they have to find homes for all of their animals by May 27th. It made me super sad, but I heard this morning they're doing well with adoptions and are down to less than 30 animals to find homes for. Kenneth and I will probably go by this weekend and have talked about bringing on maybe 1 more dog, even on a temporary basis (I honestly don't think I can handle any more animals!!! But I could definitely foster for a couple weeks) until the shelter re-opens, or we re-home them.

http://pauldinghumane.org/

SPECIAL ANNOUCEMENT

Animal Control Shelter to Close for Repairs -- All Adoptions $20 Beginning Thursday, May 13th

As often happens when large amounts of pet food are stored, the rats take advantage. The Paulding County Animal Control Shelter has been battling this problem for several months now and these critters have caused considerable damage.

Repeated exterminator attempts have only made things worse. The rats have now died in the ceilings. They have caused damaged wiring and an odor that can only be removed through drastic measures.

In approximately two to three weeks, construction crews will be coming in to replace ceilings, some walls and insulation. All pets must be relocated to allow for this repair.

The Animal Control Shelter will be using all means available to find homes for the pets currently housed through reduced adoption fees, rescue groups and other area animal controls.

Beginning Thursday, May 13th, all adoptions will be $20. This includes the microchip and all fixed pets. Requirements for spay/neuter will still apply on unfixed pets and will be strictly enforced.

Strays or owner turn-ins will not be accepted when construction begins. Calls will be handled at the discretion of the Marshal Bureau.

It is expected that the Shelter will be closed a minimum of two weeks during the construction.

(updated 5-14-10)

"The Paulding County Animal Control Shelter will be closing for repairs beginning Friday, May 28th. Adoptions will take place through that time. Intakes will cease on Friday, May 21st."
If you know anyone that might be able to help, or know a message board, etc. to spread the word, please do. I'd love to know all of those babies found a home or temporary place to stay and none have to be put down just because the shelter needs to close for a couple weeks!! Here's hoping!!

13w5d Quick Check In

I have not been feeling too hot since Sunday, I stayed home from work yesterday to rest. I got a nice 3-hour nap and then lounged most the rest of the day. I can't really pinpoint something specific, I just don't feel very good. I'm exhausted, headachy and having congestion (that part I assume from allergies) and my stomach has been really sensitive and nauseated too. Hoping a couple more days of taking it easy will have me feeling back to "normal" again... I just feel like I'm really dragging the last couple days and want nothing more than my bed! I'm drinking lots of powerade and water to stay hydrated, my appetite hasn't been "normal" lately either. I get hungry sometimes and then the thought of eating makes my stomach churn. I feel like I'm back in the land of morning sickness or something. Hopefully I'll bounce back soon.

I am excited to be close to 14 weeks, one more week closer to feeling baby bean moving and finding out if s/he is a she or a he! :) June is going to be a busy month and I'm sure it will go quickly. I'm so looking forward to the pool at Kenneth's grandmother's being open again so we can go take advantage of that! Though I laid out in the sun just a little on Saturday and that made me feel pretty lousy, so I'm going to have to be careful about overheating. Hopefully if I stay in the cooler water and don't just sit straight in the sun I'll be ok. I just need to be aware of how I'm feeling and not push it when something feels off.

Well, lots to catch up on today since I wasn't at work yesterday so hopefully today will fly by quickly!

13w1d - Happy FRIDAY!!

I'm so excited that its Friday! :) After having yesterday off I feel almost like I got a jump start on my weekend and am ready to head on home and enjoy a couple days off.

We have some plans for tomorrow - oil change, groceries, lunch date with Vicki and eye doctor appointments in the evening so Saturday will be more on the busy side but I'm sure we'll lounge in the morning and I am definitely planning to enjoy sleeping in!

Tonight will be an easy food night - we have lots of bits and pieces of randomness leftover from dinners the past week and so it'll be a microwave kind of night! :) I'm thinking Dinner A'Fare for tomorrow night since we have our eye doctor appointment so late - ohhh or better yet I still have some gift card money for Applebees... take out perhaps?! :)

I felt pretty off yesterday evening, maybe it was just too much excitement and running around, not sure, but I went to bed pretty early and fell asleep fast and have felt pretty good most of today. Minor stomach upset, but nothing major, so hopefully I'll feel fine tonight. I'm really thinking about a nice bubble bath... I haven't had a bath since before transfer back in February and I miss my baths!

I wore all maternity today - I think this is the first time I've worn a "real" maternity shirt that actually has ties in the back - its super cute though and goes nicely with the jeans I am wearing. I am just not comfy in my regular jeans anymore and even though maternity stuff is really too big still, I'm sure I'll be growing into it relatively quickly over the next few weeks! :)

Big Day! 13 Weeks Prego, Nuchal Screening & First OB!

Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head -- which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs nearly an ounce. As you start your second trimester, most of your baby's critical development will be completed and your odds of miscarriage drop considerably.
I started out my day with almost an extra hour of sleep, however it barely made up for my stinkin' phone having an alarm go off at MIDNIGHT!! I have NO idea how that happened - but I wasn't thrilled about it. Then Kenneth had to get up extra early too, so not un-interrupted, but still a little extra sleep was good. Ran an errand this morning and threw dinner in the crock pot before heading off to meet my IM at the Maternal Fetal Diagnostic Center for our nuchal screening.

This little one is a total laid back guy or girl!! They were in "lounge position" the whole time; we got a nice long ultrasound (but mainly because baby just wouldn't MOVE to give the tech some space between the bottom of the uterus and his/her head to get a good nuchal measurement!!) She kept BANGING on my stomach with the stinking probe! (Didn't really help, baby could've cared less it seems!)

At the very end baby seemed to wake up from their nap and was throwing arms and legs all over - so CUTE!! We got some sweet profile shots and a funny alien looking baby full face view. It was awesome to get to watch my IM watching her little one on the screen, and we asked pretty please if the tech would take a peek between baby's legs and she did agree to try, though she said it was really too early. She couldn't get a good angle and with the shot she could get she said there was a bunch of cord between baby's legs which wasn't helping.

Our review with the NP after the ultrasound went well - she was shocked at my IM's story, most seem to double take over her story! Once we got past that, she said everything looked good. The only bad news is that I have a placenta previa and am on full pelvic rest until we get an ultrasound showing its moved, though they all seem to think it should move as the uterus continues to grow and aren't worried about it at this point. My hubby won't be so happy though! (And I admit after doing a little research it makes me a little nervous, so I will be sending "MOVE YOU DANG PREVIA thoughts towards my uterus, any extra thoughts of a similar nature you have to spare would be appreciated! :) I told my IM positive thinking and energy has gotten us this far, we'll stick with that and trust by the next ultrasound in a month the previa won't be an issue)!

We did the first part of the lab screening, just a finger poke and 6 little spots of blood on a sheet. The next phase will be a blood draw when we go back in 4 weeks for a follow up and a fetal echo (since my IM's AMH level's were low they are screening baby a little more carefully - one RE told her because of those levels baby is at a higher than normal risk for down's and possible other chromosomal abnormalities).

We were there for TWO AND A HALF HOURS because they were running so far behind, so eventually we got out of there and grabbed some lunch at Taco Mac (YUMMY burrito!!!) and then headed to my OB's office for my "First OB" appointment with the midwife. We waited for all eternity and eventually went back and I got weighed, peed in a cup and had my BP checked - all was good. Then we waited some more for Chastain - my midwife. She listened to baby's heartbeat on doppler and said baby sounded great, did a breast exam on me and we chit chatted awhile. She was also taken aback by my IM's story and was very happy for us that things were going well! She said everything looked great and we all plan on a BORING pregnancy and delivery experience this time around! I think my IM "L" is really looking forward to that, getting to be fully present for the delivery and for her newborn.

"L" headed out after the appointment was done, and I went back to the lab and got my first trimester prenatal bloodwork drawn and made my next appointment (both u/s and next OB appointment are for June 10th). And that was all she wrote!! Happy to be home again, I've been a little crampy since the u/s and all that banging she did, so its nice to put my feet up and sip some water!

YAY for a fun day and it was great to spend so much time with my IM!

12w5d - Happy Tuesday! :)

I am starving and need to go warm up breakfast so I will make this a short one, but felt like popping in this morning with a quick update. I am feeling pretty good the last couple days! I enjoyed making dinner last night (and snuck in meatless meatballs into our "meatball subs" - shhh... don't tell my boys!! :D ) It's been fun to cook again and be in the kitchen more, to have energy for that. Though I'm still plenty tired overall. I wake up wishing I could get just 1 more hour of sleep. I didn't sleep all that well last night, but did have some more crazy vivid dreams! This time I was at Great Wolf Lodge with a co-worker and her family. Very odd. Did make me want to go back to GWL though! We had such a nice time there, I could stay in the water park all day long! :) I'm hoping to convince Kenneth that's a good family destination next summer. I really want to be able to ride the waterslides so I'll have to wait 'til this little one is born and safe and sound with his/her mommy and daddy before going back to GWL! :)

I was a little anxious this morning to make sure baby bean still sounded good - so I "spied" on him/her with the doppler very briefly and had no trouble finding that gorgeous heartbeat today! YAY! Made me very happy, and as always a beautiful way to start the day! Heartrate was in the high 150's. Definitely seems to vary - though it could be the doppler I bought too. I can't wait to for our ultrasound on Thursday! I'm SO excited for it!! I can't wait to hear this little one looks great. :) Every week into the pregnancy I am more awed and feel that much more blessed at how well things are going. Still have to pinch myself sometimes!

Off to warm up my breakfast and have a great day! :)

12w3d - Happy Mother's Day

Today has been an... interesting day I guess! I woke up excited to use the Best Baby Gender test I'd received in the mail yesterday, so at about 7am I actually bounded (yes, almost literally) out of bed and peed in a cup (yet again), added the reagent and swirled the cup and watched to see what color would appear triumphant!! Blue/Green it was - so the Baby Gender test thinks L&N are having a GIRL! I sent "L" a picture and a note this morning and had sent her a link to a recording of baby bean's heart beat last night. She sent a note back and said IF would be excited to hear and asked how accurate the test was supposed to be. That is the question! According to Best Baby Gender's site (http://www.bestbabygender.com), they have a 100% accuracy rating after week 14 of the pregnacy. I tested at 12w3d, so we'll see if they're accurate for us or not!! (Fingers crossed the tech will take a peek on Thursday at the ultrasound)!

So, then I went back to sleep for awhile and was woken up around 9:30 with a delicious breakfast in bed. Hubby fixed an omelet, toast with my favorite blackberry jam, orange juice and cocoa w/ whipped cream! Mmm!! My two boys came and joined me while I ate. We took most of the day pretty easy, after showering I was feeling really sick for awhile and layed back down to see if resting would help my stomach settle. Eventually I felt ok, and came back out to the living room and we had some lunch and I stuck with chicken noodle soup and crackers. That seemed to go down ok. This afternoon I took Kent and we did grocery shopping and I picked up some tulips and a card for my mom. I still have her ashes on my dresser, so I set the flowers next to her. They are beautiful... tulips were her favorite. They always make me think of mom and Washington. I will fill out the card later, I don't think I'm ready just yet. I haven't cried too much today, I've been enjoying Mother's Day with my family and haven't reminisced too much. I've done a lot of that in the days leading up to today though, so I think I'm mostly cried out already...

It's about time to go fix some dinner, I'm looking forward to fixing a new recipe I stumbled across in my giant recipe binder last night! Kent and I picked up some fresh corn on the cob to go with it and I'm going to make homemade cornbread too - YUMMY!! I found a cornbread recipe on AllRecipes.com that is SO good - definitely my favorite I've made. (Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread.)

Here's me at 12w1d - some days I look more prego than others, and my tummy was fairly popped out when I took this picture - but it won't be too much longer before its like that all the time!!

Your pregnancy: 12 weeks

How your baby's growing:
The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.

Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby's brain, synapses are forming furiously. His face looks unquestionably human: His eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and his ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over 2 inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.

I think I am feeling baby moving on a slightly more regular basis!! There have been a few bumps that I THOUGHT might be baby, but wasn't sure - but I've been having them a little more regularly - sometimes more then once in a day, other days not at all, but generally all in the same spot. Feels like a little bump from inside! I can't wait 'til baby's a little bigger and I will be SURE I'm feeling him/her!

I peeked in again last night with the doppler and had no trouble at all finding that gorgeous heartbeat - same spot as last time, sort of tucked away on the far left hand side. Baby was moving quite a bit - I picked up a lot of noises that sounded like movement on the doppler which was fun! I had to follow baby around a little. I only listened in for a minute. I have the idea to use the webcam to try to record the sound for my IPs and that way I can aim the webcam at the doppler so they can see the digi read-out too! I'm hoping to try that tonight. I know they would like to have that!

Last night we had the BEST Dinner A'Fare dinner - Vegetable Chow Mein with Potsticker Dumplings. It was DELICIOUS! I will DEFINITELY be getting that again, next time its offered. The noodles came out so good, the sauce was perfect (and I was a little nervous because I'm not a big fan of oyster sauce which it had in it). I loooove Dinner A'Fare! I thawed out another one for tonight - Parmesan Tilapia and Orzo Pasta... mmmm!! I'm thinking about getting some fresh green beans to go with it.

Makes it so easy to "plan" for a dinner that I don't have to do a lot to - just thaw and follow instructions but so much better than a frozen pizza (which I am ashamed to admit to cooking TWICE last week!!)

In any event. Things are going well! I'm feeling pretty good today. My allergies aren't bugging me as much as they were a couple days ago. I had been taking claritin and sudafed the first part of the week, but stayed off of it yesterday and today just have a little bit of congestion left but its manageable.

I am very much looking forward to Friday and then the weekend to relax! I've woken up exhausted the last couple days. I slept funny last night and my shoulders are aching today, hopefully I'll sleep in a better position tonight!

I've also been getting a bunch of mild leg/foot cramps again - I stopped taking my supplements the last few days and BAM, back they come (still taking my prenatals, just got lazy and stopped taking the extra stuff)! Guess I should have learned that lesson by now! Iron, potassium and calcium supplements here I come!

11w4d - what a great weekend! :)

I am so excited to hit 12 weeks on Thursday - there is something somewhat "magical" about that number in a pregnancy. We have our nuchal screening and first OB the following week which is going to be very cool - I'm looking forward to those appointments!

I worked from home the first half of Friday and then we headed out towards Madison, GA in the early afternoon and got there I think around 4:00 in the afternoon. We got our dogs settled and ourselves settled and had dinner at 6:00 - definitely one of my favorite things about visiting Southern Cross; they feed you reallllly good there! :)

Saturday was a laid back day, we walked in the pastures with the horses some, watched a movie and some TV, rode bikes, walked the dogs and lounged quite a bit (and of course, ate really, really good)! Unfortunately, I ate too fast at breakfast which resulted in something getting stuck and me not feeling too well, and then again at lunch I think I overdid it on dessert and felt sick a lot of the early afternoon. I was pretty annoyed with myself, since it was my own fault and it put a damper on the day, but I still really enjoyed our visit and having that time for some r&r.

Getting to look out the window and see so much green - trees and rolling pastures, and then horses walking or trotting by - just made me completely happy. I missed getting to ride, but then again it was nice to not have a set schedule and really just get to hang out for the time we were there!

We enjoyed another yummy breakfast on Sunday morning and hung out in our room until check out time. Kenneth packed everything up and loaded up the car then we hung out in the common areas and watched some TV and played pool until lunch at 1:00. I took it really easy with what I ate since I knew we were going to be in the car for awhile and didn't want to make myself sick before our trip home! I ate a yummy fresh salad, some broiled potatoes, corn and some beets. They always had lots of great vegetable sides!

After lunch we walked the dogs one more time then hit the road. We met Ken & Donna in Woodstock and loaded Kent up too (poor kid was covered in dogs for the ride home)!

It was so HOT when we got back to the house - the humidity in the air was keeping things sticky and sweaty. So, eventually I begged for a/c and we turned our air on for the first time in forever last night. I am glad we did, because thunderstorms broke out around 1-2:00am in the morning and we already had all the windows shut. Max paced around and made noise for the rest of the night so we both only slept a little after that, sigh.

I checked in on baby bean with the doppler before going to bed last night and sent Lauren a quick check in to say everything had gone well, we were back safe and sound, and baby sounded great!

It was raining cats and dogs on the way in this morning, making traffic CRAZY - but it looks like the rain has stopped or at least really slowed down finally. There was flood warnings and watches all over the place - hopefully the roads will dry up a little before we all pile back on them to try to get home this evening! It's supposed to be sunny tomorrow. :)
