19w6d

I am sleepy today! Feeling pretty good, but definitely tired. I don't think I've been sleeping that great this week for some reason. I could totally go for a nap right about now.

This is such a laid back baby! I get little bumps and kicks throughout the day, but nothing major and hardly ever any "big" movements or kicks. Enough to keep me reassured that she's doing well, but I keep wondering if she'll get more active or if maybe I'll feel it more in the coming months as she grows. We shall see!! Ha ha! I start typing this and all of a sudden get a small series of bumps in the same spot. :)

I fixed a blueberry smoothie for breakfast this morning, and then had a small bowl of cereal with milk. That is major dairy overload for my tummy - I hope it can handle it! I usually don't have that much dairy in a day because I tend to be sensitive to it, but I'm hoping it'll stay down ok today (fingers crossed)!

I'm getting excited for the long weekend coming up! Get to sleep in for 4 days in a row - yay! :) Kent and I have dentist appointments Friday morning and then we'll pack up for Saturday. It's only one night so I don't think we'll need too much! My nutrition plan will have to go out the window for about 24 hours, but I'll just have to do my best to make good choices with whatever Ken & Donna are serving and hope I can behave myself for a day. :)

At least I'll still have a good week and a half when we get back to get back on my program before it's time for the next OB appointment and "official" weigh in! :) I'm doing good so far though and am happy that my weight has leveled out and it's lower than it was a week ago even if it is only by a pound. It's still closer to my goal for this point then it was before.

I keep thinking about another surrogacy lately! It's on my mind a lot! I thought I'd be thinking more about the idea of having another baby of our own which is something Kenneth and I have been talking about, but instead I keep thinking about another surrogacy journey. It's very odd! Who knows why, probably because of how well things have been going and it seems "easy" still at this point. Maybe my thought process will change some when we get to the more uncomfortable phase of the 3rd trimester!!

I guess it's good to have some unknowns in my future still, as much as I'd like to I can't sit down and plan it all out!! :)

19w4d Check In :)

My IPs and their daughter are away on vacation for the next week hopefully having a WONDERFUL time and getting to relax and enjoy each other in the beautiful summer sunshine! Kenneth and I spent a quiet weekend at home since Kent with with his grandma & grandpa. We got some errands done, went and saw a movie (Knight & Day) and I got 3 loads of laundry done! Go me! :)

I am going through tupperware like crazy following this meal plan so I'm just going to have to get used to washing dishes by hand probably every other night during the week! That's probably the biggest pain in the rear end to all of the meal planning. But at least I'm not creating more trash since I'm using re-usable containers instead of tupperware. Or something like that. :D

I've had to change a couple things up to use the fruit I already bought. Today's plan had called for honeydew melon and cantaloupe, but I'm using up my bananas and strawberries. And I need to use the blueberries I bought too, so I may have to tweak tomorrow as well.
Overall I'm really not having much of a problem sticking to the general guideline given to me though, and am enjoying the meals and not having to think about it once its all together!

Baby "S" is doing well! I still get little bumps and ocassional harder kicks and bumps throughout the day irregularly. I know she's still pretty little! I think I was feeling a lot more with Fiona at this same point though, so I do think she's maybe more laid back then Fiona was. I've been feeling pretty good most of the time, just the ocassional tired and sinus stuff that kicks my butt. Yesterday I think I ate lunch too fast and was feeling lousy for about an hour after that. I rested some and it didn't take too long to feel better though, thankfully! We met Kenneth's parent's around 4:00 to pick Kent up.

We're going to be heading up to their place again this weekend for 4th of July! We'll just go for 1 night, head up Saturday mid-day and come back mid-day Sunday. Hopefully I'll get some pool time somewhere in there! :)

Your pregnancy: 19 weeks

Yes, we're OFFICIALLY 19 weeks today!! I cannot believe it!! Time truly is flying by.

How your baby's growing:

Your baby's sensory development is exploding! Her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that she may be able to hear your voice now, so don't be shy about reading aloud, talking to her, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you.

Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of a large heirloom tomato. Her arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of her body now. Her kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on her scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on her skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.
I stopped and did my grocery shopping for my "meal plan" last night and happily stocked my refrigerator with all the goodies I brought home! I fixed Martha Chicken and macaroni and cheese for dinner last night - one of Kenneth's favorites. After dinner I finished assembling everything for my breakfast and lunch today and put in the fridge. I put everything in one of my reuseable grocery bags this morning and loaded it in my fridge here at work! So far so good! :) I've enjoyed my yogurt and granola, my 1/2 grapefruit and just finished my mini bagel (which I added a 1-point tub of weight watchers cream cheese too). That lasted from about 8 this morning 'til 10:00 so hopefully I will be full until it's time for my yummy pita sandwich at lunch!

I swear I think about food ALL the time, constantly planning out the next thing in the day, or the next day, or the next week so at least now I have a structure to daydream about food within. :) Fingers crossed it helps me out!

Tonight its spaghetti, which Kenneth isn't a huge fan of but I love, so I'm excited about it! :) I'll fix rolls for the boys too.

Tomorrow's plan:

Breakfast

1 instant oatmeal packet
1 cup 2% milk
2 miniature blueberry muffins
½ cup orange juice

Lunch
1 cup tomato soup
Grilled cheese sandwich
1 cup 1% milk
5 wheat crackers

Dinner
Beef Stroganoff
.75 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 cup 2% milk

Snacks
1 cup strawberries
1 low-fat chocolate cupcake

I couldn't find "low-fat" chocolate cupcakes at the grocery store, so I decided to splurge and get a package of my all time favorite Hostess Chocolate CupCakes instead - they are only about 50 more calories than the one in the meal plan called for... I'm going to have to be careful though, I remember last pregnancy I think I ate a whole box in one sitting. They are dangerous!! Which is the whole reason in planning out my eating, so I don't do that this time!! :)

It looks like its going to be another beautiful and HOT day today!! Maybe I can get out and enjoy some of that sunshine this weekend, I hope, I hope!

18w6d - The BabyFit Plan!

I have gained a couple more pounds then I want to at this point and I'm not going to stress out about it, but I did decide a good plan would be to follow BabyFit's recommended weekly meal plans and see if that helps me control my eating habits a little better. I know it will help ensure I get a good mix of fresh fruits, veggies, whole grains, protein and calcium and I just need to do a little pre-planning to pack my meals at night and use their grocery shopping lists to help supplement what I already have at home!

I like that you can go in and customize the plan too, if I don't like the suggested snack item, I can change it out for another one. And it's set to the calorie range I've picked for myself too. I'm excited to see how the week goes and how I feel during the day and if I stay satisfied on the plan. I think that I will. I think these are just going to be "more bang for my buck" calories as opposed to how I've been eating. I know I've done a lot of snacking where I should have had something more nutritional than what I chose, and I've been eating out much more than I had wanted to at this point which is often one of my biggest weaknesses and probably bigger causes of any excess weight gain!

So in any event, here is tomorrow's meal plan:

Breakfast
1/2 plain bagel
1 cup low fat yogurt
.25 cup granola cereal
.5 grapefruit

Lunch
Whole wheat pita with
3 ounces roast turkey (4 slices)
  2 leaves romaine lettuce
  2 med. slices tomato
  3 slices cucumber
  1 TBS mayonnaise
1 cup of 2% milk
1 pear

Dinner
Whole wheat spaghetti with meat sauce and olive oil, topped with parmesan cheese;
1 cup steamed broccoli
apple

Snacks
1 whole wheat pita
3 TBS hummus
1 fat free vanilla pudding cup

That's a lot of good stuff!! I am going grocery shopping on my way home to make sure I have everything I need for the week and this evening I will pack up my lunch and breakfast for tomorrow and be all set. In general I usually buy lower/fat-free options so I will probably have a few calories left to play with at the end of most days too, which is nice so I can splurge every now and then on dessert or maybe a piece of candy from the office candy bowl (which is evil, by the way).

I don't usually plan out my meals ahead of time, but I think this will really help in a lot of ways, even with dinners - we're often so last minute, now I'll be able to plan ahead of time what to thaw out and make sure I have everything I need. I really hope this first week goes well and I discover the extra effort is definitely worth it. I really think it will be, and hope it will set me up for some good eating habits for the remainder of the pregnancy!

I'll hopefully be able to report back tomorrow that everything went really well with my first day on the plan and I was able to follow it easily.

I also really need to start being accountable for exercising on a regular basis. I have so many good intentions, but I don't follow through! I know I will pay for it in the end, and need to get with the program and I really have no excuses between the treadmill in my living room at home and the gym available for use here at the office. I just need to GO for it instead of giving in to being "too tired" when I get home in the evenings. I would really, really like to be walking 30-60 minutes most days of the week and then hopefully getting out and doing something active most weekends with my family.

Lots of health goals right now, and I always have the "drink more water" goal in the back of my mind! That is always a work in progress and for the most part I think I do pretty good with that and will keep at it.

Looking forward to the official "19 week" roll over tomorrow!! :)

18w5d - Rambly Update

Sort of feeling "rambly" today. Not too much going on. Been really busy at work which has made time go by quickly, which is good!

Kenneth and I went to the High Museum on Saturday, Kent went to his great-grandmother's on Thursday and stayed 'til Saturday so Kenneth and I squeezed in a date. We haven't had one in awhile, and it was really nice! The Allure of the Automobile exhibit was going on, and the cars were beautiful! I'd won tickets at a cooking competition awhile back, and they came with the audio tour and that made it extra cool to get a lot of background information on the different cars. The very last one was a GORGEOUS Corvette. Of course. :D We drove the Vette there, and took the top off for the way home - it was sunny and beautiful outside!! I felt great on the freeway with all the air whipping around, but once we got off the freeway I got a little overheated so when we stopped for gas we had to put the top back on, and I got some cold water and we cranked the A/C up. It hasn't taken much for me to get overheated with the warmer weather lately. I should know to be a little more careful by now, I'm just unused to it still I guess! I've never had this happen before. I am sure its because I'm pregnant, just not sure why exactly it happens. I guess I'm not hydrated enough either.

The funny thing that happened at the Museum that we didn't find out about until Monday is a local radio host, Jenn Hobby, got engaged at the High while we were there. We had seen a photo in one of the boxes that say "Take a Closer Look" where you can get more information about the artwork its next to, and saw someone go and pick the photo up and then a woman came running out from behind the wall and said "That's ours, our friends are getting engaged and its for them!" we didn't think much of it, but I was listening to the radio on Monday and found out that's the spot that Jenn's fiance proposed to her. :) I thought that was kind of cool!

In any event, we had a nice day together and then Sunday I felt sort of lousy, sinus pressure and headache most of the day. I took a really long nap in the afternoon, but in the morning and then after my nap we were all busy with lots of chores and working around the house. Kenneth's been working on the Bronco, and Kent had a bunch of chores he had to make up and so I helped him with those, and in the afternoon I worked with Kenneth in the basement trying to straighten it up a little. It's a HUGE disaster zone down there with military gear strewn over the WHOLE entire floor. You couldn't even walk without tripping, but now at least there are some clear spaces, and the mess is a little more centralized. I am thinking about buying some more rubbermaids and throwing his crap in them and letting him sort through it later!! :)

Little Miss "S" has been bebopping around more and more - and I'm feeling movement directly below my belly button now, so my uterus is definitely moving up! I just felt several bumps! :) Every now and then I'll still get a kick or something down low, but it seems most of the movement is more in the middle now as she's growing. Yesterday I had a very painful spot, about an inch below my belly button and a couple inches to the left. It was the same spot over and over and it was a very sharp pain. It lasted from early afternoon until late in the evening and was really starting to bother and worry me. When I got home I rested most of the afternoon, especially when I realized it wasn't letting up. I put my feet up and laid down on the couch and that seemed to help the most. It hasn't started back up, so I guess it was just a "growing pain" of some sort!

One more week and we'll be in JULY and at our 20 week mark! Holy moly!! Time is flying, and I'm so happy with how well everything has been going! :)

Your pregnancy: 18 weeks

Well, I'm a day late - but here I am! :)

"Head to rump, your baby is approximately 5 1/2 inches long (about the length of a bell pepper) and weighs almost 7 ounces. He's busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. If you're having a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If you're having a boy, his genitals are noticeable now, although he may hide them from you during an ultrasound. "
Nothing too much to report. Things have been busy at work and keeping me running and I am glad it's Friday! I'm very ready for a nice weekend off. The weather has been so pretty and I'm looking forward to enjoying some of the sunshine up close and personal as opposed to behind a big pane of glass as I do during the work week! :) Baby "S" has been pretty active lately - but she has quiet spells mainly during the day and then it seems to pick up in the evenings and I usually feel her when I wake up in the middle of the night! I've had some cramps lately, off and on - not sure why or what they mean but I always assume I should drink more liquid if I'm cramping so I've been trying to push water, water, water!!

I'm really tired today... I'm thankful I get to leave a little early and relax at home this afternoon! Yesterday when I got home I decided I wanted home made lasagna. I stopped at Publix on my way home for french bread, cottage cheese, fresh mushrooms and mozzarella and I had a great time fixing a big pan of lasagna for dinner. I haven't made one in forever and I didn't even use my recipe book - I remembered it (it's a pretty simple recipe) and I tweaked it to make it the way I wanted anyway. It came out GREAT!! I served it with garlic cheesy french bread and it was delicious. Kenneth had 2 big helpings and I finished my plate off too. Home made dinner is good stuff! I love to cook, and it made me happy to get to play in the kitchen some last night.

I've been dealing with leg cramps again the last couple days, I get a twinge in the weirdest spot behind my right knee, and it makes my whole leg feel like its twisted funny... it's a very odd spot and its very annoying. I've been driving the Focus instead of the Vette and seriously think that's contributing. The way my legs and arms are positioned in the Focus are just not as comfortable as in the Vette, and it seems to be putting pressure on that right knee. It hurt all the way home yesterday, bugged me most of last night and its irritating me a little right now. It's not a full on leg cramp, it just feels like somethings not quite right with it, it hurts.

So here's my 18 week belly picture! Not too different from 16 weeks - though I'm always shocked when I look at the picture and think MAN I look smaller in this picture then I feel like I do in person!!! It never makes sense to me! I feel so much bigger in person than I think I actually look in a photo... I'm sure it won't be too much longer before I think I look plenty big in pictures too! :)

Ok, off to finish my day and then go home and REST!! :)

17w5d - Happy Birthday Weekend! :)

I am now officially 29 years old. Sigh. This is the last birthday I am claiming!! My birthday was on Saturday and we also had our company summer picnic at Six Flags that day! It was FUN! I really had a good time - though my legs are still sore from all the walking Kent and I did (and I wore flip flops - not so great in the suppportive footwear department)!

We got there at about 10:30 and there were no lines at all, so we went on one water ride together (my one and only for the day it turned out, since it seems every other ride in the park says NO PREGO LADIES!!!) Then I took him to another water ride and then it was time to head over and meet the other BC folks who were helping with set up for the picnic. Kent got in one more quick ride on the Wheelie and then we headed over to our Pavilion and spent about the next hour working on laying out the raffle prizes and the most time consuming effort was filling the water balloons!! There were about 6 of us spread out at different faucets and spiggots filling as many as we could. We ended up with quite a few so I was happy - though I still have blisters on my fingers because I had to use the bathroom sink and stretching the balloons over the faucet results in a lot of them snapping off and popping your fingers. Ouch.

The picnic went well - it was REALLY hot, but a beautiful day and I made myself drink TONS and tons of water while we were at the Pavilion because I started feeling a little cruddy. I felt better after getting a few glasses of cold water in me and was able to join in watching the games and have a good time. The food was really yummy - chicken tenders and BBQ sauce, hot dogs, pasta salad, coleslaw and ice cream bars. Mmmm! :)

After the games, then the water balloon fight (I got Kent with one!! hee hee!! :D ) we ended the picnic with our raffle and I won a family 4-pack of tickets to a Braves game in August! I haven't been in forever - and it sounds hot, but fun! :)

Kent and I stayed about another 2 1/2 hours, doing lots of walking trying to find a ride with a decent line (he really wanted to go on Thunder River but the line was an hour long and then it broke down too, so we didn't wait around for that). So we ended up over at Skull Island for a good long hour. I got nice and wet and then sat in the sun and dozed a little while Kent had a great time playing. We were both pretty exhausted after that and made the trek back to the car. It was a very fun day and I'm so glad we went! I had a good time, even though I couldn't even ride my Monster Plantation ride like I'd hoped. :)

Almost to our 18 week mark and then just 2 more weeks 'til the big 20 week milestone! YAY!! So excited to be almost half way through! I can't believe how fast its going! :)

Your pregnancy: 17 weeks - U/S Appt Update!

Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.
Yesterday was a 10:00 ultrasound appointment at the Maternal Fetal Diagnostic Center for Phase II of the screening we had done (which my IM came for) and then I had a 2:00 OB check up. Everything went really well overall!!

The first phase of our nuchal screening came back all normal, and after looking at the ultrasound results from yesterday the peri said things look even better. I had blood drawn as the Phase II portion of the nuchal screening and testing we had done and my IM will get those results in about a week just to confirm everything looks good.

We got a nice long ultrasound with TONS of measurements of the baby - brain looked good, femur length, stomach, etc. It was FUN to see how much this peanut has grown!!

Baby was wiggling and moving - started out upside down, with a butt on my cervix and then flipped head down in the middle of the ultrasound. We saw swallowing and all the little fingers and toes!! SOOO PRECIOUS!! This little one had their legs criss crossed at the ankles almost the whole time - apparently they are very proper or very shy!! It was hard for the tech to get a good between the leg shot, but she said she's 90% sure my IP's are going to be the proud parents of another BABY GIRL!

At one point the tech had a fairly good shot but baby actually reached down and was covering herself with her HAND!! The tech was almost laughing, she couldn't believe how difficult baby was making it for us! At that point I said it HAS to be a girl - boys let it all hang out and girls are the shy ones. :) The tech said baby is weighing in at about 7 ounces.

For more good news, my placenta previa MOVED!! It is now "low-lying" but the peri wasn't concerned at all. I'm off restriction and they'll check me again 1 month before my due date to confirm its in a good location for delivery.

The peri told me I need to drink more water. He said from something he saw (I have no idea what?!) it looks like I'm fairly dehydrated (the term he used was drier than a popcorn fart!! Ewww!!). I have no idea WHAT he saw or was looking at (baby fluid levels were fine) but that's what he said. I am confused about that because I drink a lot all day long - usually 80-90 ounces a day (which is how much he said I need to be drinking). I guess I need to up it though... it certainly can't hurt!

I got to relax at home for about an hour after that appointment, made lunch for Kent and myself and then we headed off to my OB check up. It was a super fast appointment, we were in and out of there in about 20 minutes which was nice! I saw the midwife again, she listened to baby's heartrate and told me all my labs from the last appointment had come back good and my pap and STD swabs were all negative (shocker!) :D I asked about the leg cramps I've been dealing with and she said that the potassium and calcium supplements I have (and have been taking somewhat sporadically) are really the only thing I can do to help, and take them daily and just make sure I take calcium and iron separately or they cancel each other out. So I need to take the chewable calcium supplements in the AM since I take my prenatals with iron in the PM. They'll start with belly measurements at the next appointment. We'll do the anatomy scan at the next appointment, so I have to wait for them to get authorization from the insurance company before they can schedule that ultrasound appointment, but it'll be in about 4 weeks along with the next OB check up (which has to be scheduled separately which is sort of silly, but oh well, that's how they do it)!

Kent and I ran a couple errands after the appointment and we all had a nice evening at home. I was pretty tired after all the running around so I took it pretty easy. Snacked on some fresh fruit I picked up at the grocery store, and made an easy dinner a'fare meal. I think we're having tacos tonight - yummy!! :) Haven't had tacos in awhile, so I'm looking forward to those!

16w5d - Happy Food Moments!!

I have discovered a very simple sandwich that makes me very happy lately! I was already in love with Great Harvest Bread Co. and when we were out last weekend I asked if we could stop and get a loaf since it's been awhile since I got to enjoy some of their bread. They didn't have the one I normally get which is a whole wheat bread loaded with nuts and seeds but they had a similar one so we got a loaf of that - I wish I could remember what it's called... not that it matters, but it's annoying when your brain can't recall what seems like a simple detail!

In any event, I have discovered BLT sandwiches with this bread are the BEST!! I use 2-3 slices of center cut bacon, a whole roma tomato, 2-3 good leaves of lettuce, a small amount of light mayo and a big 'ol dill pickle on the side and I am a total happy camper!

I've had this twice since we got the bread, so far, and I could probably eat it every night for dinner and be happy. Unfortunately Kenneth is not a BLT fan, so I don't think it will be on the dinner menu anytime soon... sigh. :)

I tossed and turned a lot last night for some reason, and feel pretty tired this morning. But the only cool thing was I remember waking up around 3:00am and laying there on my side and feeling a few tiny little baby kicks low on the right hand side where I've been feeling baby the most lately. That was super cute and made me smile. They are distinctive kicks, but I can FEEL how tiny they are!! Right now I feel like baby is bopping around all across the middle of my stomach under my belly button, like s/he is bumping into me. It's SO fun to be feeling more sensations and I can't wait 'til they're big enough movements to see as well as feel!

Just TWO MORE DAYS!! Counting down with tons of excitement for our ultrasound!! And I'm very much looking forward to sleeping in that morning too! :)

16w4d - It's Monday!

I am bummed its Monday - but then again I am happy to be one day closer to being BETTER. After being sick for a full week, I finally went to Urgent Care on Saturday. I had thought about going on Thursday afternoon to the doctor, and then put it off thinking I'd go Friday since I was already taking that day off from work and then I just kept putting it off on Friday being in denial and thinking I HAD to get better on my own soon! I woke up Saturday feeling the most miserable yet and gave up. Kenneth loaded me in the car and took me to urgent care. They put me on a z-pack, 5 days of antibiotics (I have a sinus infection). I hate taking meds period and really hate taking them pregnant but the doctor said those are safe for pregnancy, and I can take tylenol and sudafed which I've pretty much been on for the past week to help with the symptoms until the antibiotics do their job. The worst part has been this cough that's kept me up all night long and there's really not much you can take for a cough besides cough drops - I've been sleeping with one in my mouth every night for the past few days to try to sleep most of the night. But after taking my antibiotics on Saturday and Sunday, last night is the first night in what feels like forever that I actually slept all the way through!! WOOO HOOO!! I am still tired and feeling a little under the weather this morning but I feel SOOO much better and am so glad to finally be on my way to recovering from this crud!

I can focus on work and just getting through the next couple days and being excited about our u/s on Thursday again. I am very much looking forward to seeing my IM and of course taking a sneek peak at the baby bean and seeing how much s/he has grown and finding out if s/he is a she or a he!! :D I know my IM will be so happy to finally know for sure!!

I watched Dear John over the weekend and loved it - I cried off and on througout the movie. I had listened to the book on CD awhile back and it was definitely different, but good.

I updated my AllRecipes "Food Blog" on Saturday: Quick Chili & Fabulous Cornbread! Tracking what I'm eating while I'm prego! :)

Your pregnancy: 16 weeks

How your baby's growing:

Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.

How your life's changing:The top of your uterus is about halfway between your pubic bone and your navel, and the round ligaments that support it are thickening and stretching as it grows. You're probably feeling a whole lot better as you settle into pregnancy, too. Less nausea, fewer mood swings, and "glowing" skin contribute to an overall sense of well-being.

Happy 16 weeks!! :D So excited - only one more month 'til our half way point now! So awesome!! I got a text from L this morning which was good - I hadn't heard from her in a few days and was wondering how they were doing and wanted to make sure all was well. They've been traveling and just extra busy lately which is what I'd figured. We're both very much looking forward to our ultrasound in just ONE more week now!! Yay!! A lot of the other girls in my cycling group on SMO have already found on if they're carrying/expecting a boy or a girl and I'm ready to see Pink or Blue next to my name on the list too! :D

I'm exhausted this morning and so glad I am staying home tomorrow. I had thought about going to the doctor yesterday and put it off and am kicking myself. I'm not getting better, not really that much worse but definitely not better. I cough all through the night and just feel miserable. Sudafed is helping keep the worst of the congestion at bay, but my head feels plugged up, my ears are achy and I am light headed today. I think I need to make an appointment for tomorrow afternoon since I'll be home anyway and Kent's graduation stuff should wrap up around lunch time. Grilled hot dogs sound GOOD!! (Easily distracted by the thought of food, can you tell?)!

I was craving cornbread, been craving it for about a week, so I went home and made chili, rice and cornbread for dinner last night. It totally hit the spot! I ate way too much and was totally stuffed, but it was SO good!! There's nothing like a good piece of steaming hot, fresh, honey soaked cornbread... mmmm!! I still have more than half a pint of buttermilk to use up in the next week, so I'll have to think of something else to use it in between now and then.

I guess that's it for another week! It's flying by and going really well so far! I'm more and more excited with each passing Thursday and each new week we enter into the pregnancy! I'm going to have to try to take an updated belly picture tonight - I feel like I've popped out a lot in the last couple weeks!

Baby is pushing again in the same spot s/he seems to like to hang out lately - low on the right and I have a vivid memory of Fiona hanging out in that same spot and causing me uncomfortable pains! So far it doesn't hurt much or very often, but I wonder if I will notice it more as baby gets bigger. I am just excited everytime I feel something that is definitely baby moving around in there and can't wait for the next couple weeks to go by and get to where I'm feeling more movement more often! Yay! :)
