Your pregnancy: 28 weeks

How your baby's growing:

By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. She's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.
Trucking right along!! Week 28 has arrived!! Miss "S" is getting big and taking up more space. I can feel her stretches and kicks from one end to the other of my belly and sometimes it brings me a big grin and other times a big grimace when she hits the wrong spot! I have one spot low on the right hand side that I remember having similar discomfort with Fiona - she doesn't press there too often, but I think the muscle must be particularly stretched or weak there because it doesn't take much pressure to hurt bad if she kicks down on that spot. I think she must be spending more time head down now though, because I rarely feel "kicks" down low. I do feel flutters and think it must be hands or turning movements. I get kicks and flutters up higher and under my ribs every now and then. It is just amazing to think of her spending her days in the womb and such an amazing experience to get to share these early days with her! I always feel so blessed when I stop and think about it, and just soak it all up!

Our PBO hearing is set for September 8th as well as our next OB appointment, so 30 weeks will be a big one! I am excited for that!

I've been alternating between super hungry and not hungry at all lately. I think it must partially be dependant on what position she's in. She's taking up more space and giving me a little less for food, so sometimes I have very little appetite or it takes very little to fill me, then I have days where I'm just "munchy" and want to eat everything in front of me! I'm trying to figure out how to balance what I know I can/should be eating with what I often WANT to be eating and make sure Miss "S" and I are getting what we need in there. For the most part I think I do fine and my weight gain has been pretty good so I'm not too worried about it, but I can feel that I'm getting tired again and don't want to get "lazy" and resort to habits that aren't good for me and baby - so I try to maintain some focus. :)

I'm glad its Friday tomorrow and am looking forward to a quiet weekend!!

Your pregnancy: 27 weeks

How your baby's growing:

This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.
Here we are! 27 weeks prego and 91 days to go to hit 40 weeks! Holy moly! Time is flying! I had a midwife appointment check up today. Weight gain is steady - I'm at about 19lbs at this point, blood pressure was good (I think 100/60) and my belly is measuring "right on track". Miss "S's" heart beat was nice and strong and steady. My midwife had to chase her around a little to find it!

My IM came and she brought me a huge big bag of DELICIOUS fresh fruits! That was SO sweet and is super appreciated - I have been going through a ton of fruit and we will all enjoy it! There is watermelon, mangos, strawberries, grapes and a pineapple! Yummmy!!

When we first went back to the room to wait for the midwife, I tried to see if Miss S would move around so "L" could feel, but she wasn't being too active at the moment. Guess she was having her afternoon nap! Our next appointment is in 3 weeks, and we made it on a Wednesday afternoon so "L" can bring her daughter! "A" will get to hear her baby sister's heartbeat and hopefully see her move around a little! We'll be 30 weeks then!! WOO HOOO!!

Everything is really going great! I can only complain of a little bit of back pain that comes and goes, occassional ankle/foot swelling and heartburn that flares up every now and then. Overall, this pregnancy is truly going GREAT and I feel GREAT!! I am thrilled and SO blessed with how well everything has been going and am SO excited to be 10 weeks out from being full term and really counting down to this sweet girl meeting her parents! I can't wait! :)

Your pregnancy: 25 weeks

Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.

We are TWENTY FIVE weeks today!! WOOOO HOOO!! :) Party, party, party! So excited that all is going well and we're another week through!

I've seen paperwork for the PBO already from the attorney's office that Kenneth and I need to sign and send back for a hearing coming up in early September. That is SUPER exciting!! They're really on top of it - a good month plus ahead of where we were for Fiona's PBO. :) I know my IPs will be happy to have that done as well. Kenneth will be out of town through the end of next week, so I'll have to get that out as soon as he's back.

Things have been busy, busy at work so the days are flying by and I'm excited about this weekend coming up and having some down time again with Kent. So far I have 1 small thing planned for each day, and hopefully the pool again too somewhere in there, maybe Saturday in the morning.

Today for lunch I had a PB & Banana Sandwich on a whole wheat sandwich thin and it was sooo good! I've never really done the PB/Banana thing before, but have definitely been making that more often with the meal plan I've been following. It started with nutri-grain eggo waffles with PB & Banana and I liked it so much I've worked it into some of my lunches and snacks too!

I also fixed something this morning for breakfast that I remember from 2nd grade that my mom used to send for school lunches sometimes. Cut an apple in half and use a spoon to scoop out the core and fill the hole with a TBS of peanut butter and put it back together. So yummy and fun to eat! :)

I picked my Farmer's Market Basket up on Tuesday and we've been eating lots of fresh goodies to make sure we make good use out of it all! I've been eating a couple peaches each day, and tonight we will get to use either the broccoli or green beans with our Turkey Burgers and I have lots of lettuce and green peppers too that I need to make sure we fit into this weeks meals! I still have leftover soup and some sourdough bread too, so we'll have paninis and soup tomorrow night and then hopefully over the weekend we'll have something with the lettuce and peppers. I could always freeze the green bells too, that might be nice to have pre-cleaned and diced and ready to go for various recipes!

109 Days to GO!!!

Eeeek!!!!!!! I just saw the widget - in about a week we'll be in double digit count-down!! YAY!!
Here's a belly picture recap since I haven't posted many here yet:

Me at 14w3d with a little bump.

18 week belly, looking a little bigger...

21 weeks - popping out!!

24 weeks - getting bigger!
There's my "Belly in Review"! Almost 6 months through and doing great and excited to see how the next 3 months go for us! :) Hope the month of August passes as quickly and happily as July has!

Kent and I had a good day yesterday, we ran to the mall and I got my "Lush" fix - man I love their stuff!! I didn't get to soak in a bath-bomb bath last night since I got sucked into my cookbook project, but I'm going to this afternoon/evening for SURE! :) We made a new recipe today for breakfast, Baked Oatmeal, and it was DELICIOUS!! Super easy and I highly recommend it for anyone who likes oatmeal but wants something a little different. Just like a big soft oatmeal cookie! Here's the original recipe, and my lighter version here.

Today we're going to pack a picnic lunch and head over to the pool for an hour or two and then hit The Avenues for a little browsing and shopping at Barnes and Noble, Victoria's Secret and I told Kent he could use his Coldstone Gift Card while we're there. Then I just need to run a couple errands on the way home, Target and the Bank and we'll be done for the day and I'm sure I'll be ready for a quiet evening and a soak in a bath!
