Your pregnancy: 33 weeks

How your baby's growing:

This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a conehead-like appearance.) These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.
Today is the last day of September, and we are entering the month when count down to "D-Day" will begin... well, not until the end of next month, but still! :D I had quite a bit of discomfort last night, I couldn't really tell if they were actual contractions, or just a tight sensation across my abdomen, but I had to lay down and put my feet up and that helped. Miss S had found the one weak/sore spot low on my right hand side where I had quite a bit of discomfort with Fiona. For the most part, Miss S hasn't been in a position to aggravate that spot, but the last day and a half she was on it a lot. It's weird how a little change in her position can make such a difference in how my body feels! Overall I just feel tight a LOT - very "full" and tight across my stomach. She is filling out and filling up all the space! :)

I'm glad its Thursday again and am very ready for another weekend! We're meeting up with friends for pizza out tomorrow and then I think taking it easy this weekend. Yay! :)

32w5d - FIFTY Day Countdown!!

That is an exciting number to see pop up on the ticker countdown - 50 days to hit our due date!! Woo hoo!! :) I feel like now that we're at this point, I'll be counting both gestational weeks as milestones and everytime we pass another 10 days and drop down to the next level - so now counting down to Saturday October 9th when we'll be at 40 days to go!! I know that October truly is going to fly by and my excitement level is already building, but I think it will truly sink in at some point over the next month that we're really at the END! D-day is just around the corner and then all the "after" stuff! After months and months and months of so much of my focus and attention being with my IPs and this pregnancy, I will have all of that time and attention back for myself and my family! That is exciting too! I have LOVED this pregnancy, I am so glad I get another month to month and a half with Baby S, but I am also thrilled for the "after" and getting to refocus on myself and my family. Get back to my P90X workout program, have energy and time for my boys, and having maternity leave to visit family and work on some projects! I'm super excited for that!! I would love to catch my photo albums up and I know its going to take forever, but maybe if I decide that is my maternity leave project I can make a good dent in it!

I have sort of "fallen off the wagon" with following my meal planning. I've continued to make the plans, but haven't stuck to them much the last couple weeks between just being tired and a lot of work conflicts that have interrupted our "normal" schedule. But today I made the effort to try again. I've gained a couple more pounds over the last 3 weeks than I wanted to at this point, so between that and just not feeling so great I know my eating habits need some attention and really want to make sure me and baby S are getting the right nutrition for our bodies - she needs to grow big and strong these last few weeks together!!

So this morning I only hit snooze once then got up and put together my lunch, breakfast and snack and am happy with what I packed. I just enjoyed my toast and hardboiled egg after I had my orange earlier this morning. I will probably eat my yogurt soon and then I have a peanut butter sandwich, milk and banana to look forward to for lunch! I really want to make sure I'm getting a good level of protein in since I know that really does contribute towards the weight gain of the baby, and I want to help her be a good healthy size when she arrives! I am so CURIOUS for all the delivery details now!! It's getting to that point where I start wondering how I'll go into labor, how long 'til I'll know its "real", what I'll feel in the days leading up to it, if I'll have any sort of indicators ahead of time, how long will it last, will it be at all like the last one? Will it be different having Kenneth and "L" there to be active support people? Will I feel as great afterwards as I did with Fiona? Will it be different having them in a different room? I am looking forward to resting afterwards, and already looking forward to the meal service they offer at the hospital! I love that I'll get to select what I want for my meals ahead of time, and I still remember the BLT sandwich I had after Fiona's delivery being delicious! (Of course food is always better when someone else fixes it, right?!) :)

I am feeling great, just tired. We had CPR training at work from 4-8pm last night and I got home a little before 9:00 and poor Kent was still up working on homework and I wanted to go to bed SOOOO bad, but we stayed up 'til about 10:00. Once my head hit the pillow I don't remember anything!! I woke up a couple times in the middle of the night for bathroom breaks, and remember having to make myself leave the bathroom and get back into bed, Kenneth might have found me asleep on the bathroom floor otherwise - I was out of it!

We have more deadlines approaching on the big project I've been working on at the office and I know that's about to crank back up, so no real resting yet! I will just have to start squeezing in naps at work if it gets too bad. I haven't had to do that too often, just once or twice when I really got a bad night of sleep. I feel like I would LIKE one today, but I don't NEED one just yet...!

My IPs are off to Disney for the next few days, and we're hoping we'll be able to get our appointment with the hospital staff maybe late next week. I'm looking forward to it, though I imagine it will pretty much all look the same from when I was there last - but refreshers are always good!! :)

32w3d - Good Weekend! :)

Feeling pretty good today! I enjoyed sleeping in a little the last 2 days and catching a short nap both days as well. I needed it. I've been pretty tired very shortly after waking up lately, though other than being tired I can't complain! :)

Kenneth came to Atlanta for his chiro appointment on Friday and we grabbed lunch at Firehouse Subs afterwards and I was taking a half day and the plan was to go straight home afterwards, but when we came out to get in our cars I discovered I had a completely flat rear tire from running over something. So Kenneth had to put the spare on and we took it to Wal Mart to get it repaired. Eventually we made it home, though not much earlier than if I'd stayed and worked a full day... sigh... oh well! :) At least we got to spend the afternoon together!

Yesterday we had beautiful weather, and Kenneth went to Atlanta for his second chiro appointment (he's been going Fridays/Saturdays since that's what works best with his schedule) after I fixed biscuits and gravy for the boys. Then Kent and I had a quiet morning at home, and I got about an hour and a half nap. As soon as Kenneth got home, we hopped in the car and headed to Carrollton to visit Maggie at her apartment at school! We've never all gone up together before, and it was really nice to see her and meet her roommates and see where she's living. The apartment was really nice! We got a tour of her office where she works on the newspaper as well. It was nice to hang out and visit!

We got home mid afternoon and took it pretty easy the rest of the afternoon. Kenneth as a test first thing Monday AM so he got some reading/studying done too. His back has been really sore, so I've tried to "ban him to the couch" as much as possible this weekend. We got him a new PS3 game on Friday when we were at Wal Mart in hopes of helping him pass some time while taking it easy (he'd much rather be under his truck taking it apart and putting it back together, but it really tears his back up!)

Today its been rainy and icky all day, but I met with my very dear friend Robin for lunch. She's a fellow Georgia surrogate who I've known for years now... seems like forever ago when we first met! She's seen me through my first surrogacy and then she carried GS twins, then pregnant with her own and she went through a very painful loss, then I got pregnant with Miss S and now she's expecting her own baby girl Daisy! Lots of pregnancy between the two of us over the years! :)

This is the first time we've been pregnant at the same time so we of course had to get a belly picture of the girls "chatting"! :)
Robin is 21w1d and I'm 32w3d. :) She is adorable with her Daisy bump! :D We had a great lunch at Bahama Breeze - I enjoyed my cuban sandwich and lots of yummy french fries... mmmm!! :)

Wrapping up the weekend taking it easy again, sitting on the couch and just enjoying my boy's company while Kenneth plays his game and tries to rest his back... feeling content and at peace and just happy! It's been a very good weekend. :)

Cannot BELIEVE we're entering the month of October in a few more days!! Ack!! I'm so excited!! :)

Your pregnancy: 32 weeks

How your baby's growing:

By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, she'll gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside the womb. She now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). Her skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth.
We had our 32 week check up at the OB's office yesterday and everything went great! We got to see Dr. Green this time instead of the midwife; I'm glad my IM got to meet him since you never know who will actually be doing the delivery! I still haven't heard back from the hospital on a potential day/time to meet with the different departments and get a quick tour. I need to call them back and touch base. It's just been crazy busy at work and my focus has been elsewhere - but the days have passed quickly!

Dr. Green said everything is great (weight gain, blood pressure, glucose levels from my week of self-monitoring, etc.), baby feels and sounds good - definitely head down and Miss S's big sister "A" got that big-eyed look again when Dr. Green found baby's heartbeat. I asked "A" if that was her baby and she nodded her head yes, so cute! :)

I told my IM my plan to start "walking the baby out" on Halloween night - I figure that's a good night to start trying! We'll be 37w2d at that point, and I know I could have about 3+ weeks to go at that point, but everytime I walk with any sort of intensity I start contracting, and we'll be out walking the neighborhood for an hour or more that night, so I'm pretty sure there will be some contracting going on. What comes of it is up to my body! "L" said that was a great plan! "A's" birthday party is going to be the day before, which is the big thing they would really like to have before Miss S arrives; their girls are going to have very close birthdates! I think "A's" birthday is the 10th, if I remember right; that's why they're having the party early to make sure its not too close to baby's due date.

I'll be glad to hear how big Miss S is at our u/s next month; I think it will give us a better idea of how long we might really have, and hear if my cervix is doing anything or if its still long and closed. That will be our next OB appointment as well, so we have 3 weeks and then our 35 week check up! 32 feels like another milestone week to me for some reason and I think 35 will feel like another one - maybe is just getting to each appointment is another step closer to the "big day"! :)

31w4d - 59 days 'til we're due!

We are under 60 days and now less than 2 months from our November 18th due date!! WOW!! I can't quite wrap my head around it!

I feel like she's been having a growth spurt - I really feel "bigger" and feel her taking up more space and last night I noticed a ring of little wiggly red lines spreading out from around my belly button. Not really new stretch marks (yet), but looks like possibly the beginning of some, or at least the clear indication that the belly is GROWING!! I will take more pictures on Thursday when we hit 32 weeks and can't wait to compare them to my 30 week pictures to see how much of it is in my head, and how much you can actually see!

It was a busy, work filled weekend with little down time. I was gone nearly 12 hours on Saturday to work at the office and was off and on working most of Sunday, but Kenneth and I also got some errands run and I fnally appeased my desire to bake something and made a "Better Than Pumpkin Pie" with the butternut squash we got in last week's Farmer's Market basket. It is YUMMY! I've never made a scratch pumpkin pie (only used canned pumpkin) so I'm not sure how it compares to other scratch pies, but it came out great! Very creamy, good flavor and of course having a fantastic pie crust helps. I really like the Pie Crust IV recipe I've been using for awhile now, and I like to use butter flavored shortening in it for a little extra flavor...

Still spending way too much time thinking about food! :) I gained a couple pounds over the last week and half after holding steady for awhile, guess it was just "time"! I'm sort of at that point where I am just trying to eat when I feel hungry and remind myself not to put food in my mouth the rest of the time. I don't actually get physically hungry that often, but things still sound good all the time and I end up eating more than I should most days. I'm not stressing about it too much, but I do have to be at least somewhat conscientious about it all and make sure when I do eat that I'm taking in food that is beneficial for Miss "S" and myself.

Ok, time to get back to it and hope today passes quickly and quietly! I feel like its going to be a hectic week, especially since my plan is to take Wednesday and Thursday off to make up for working over the weekend; we shall see!!

Your pregnancy: 31 weeks

How your baby's growing:

This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.
Another week checked off! It's been really busy at work and the days are flying by. I'm glad its Friday, but I'll be working through the weekend so its not quite the same! At least I enjoy what I'm doing and who I'm working with. :)

Kenneth will be coming into Atlanta for his chiropractic appointment so hopefully we'll get to squeeze in lunch together. I'm sure I will gladly welcome a break; just hope I have time for one!

Things continue to go great with the pregnancy - although I sure have had a lot more Braxton Hicks this time around, and a lot of discomfort with her being so low and banging on my cervix (or so it feels)! I keep wondering if all of the pressure and activity I feel so low will mean anything in terms of dilating sooner or possibly going into labor sooner than I did with Fiona. It just seems so early to be feeling so much already; although I know many others experience Braxton Hicks throughout their pregnancy and go full term without issue so I'm not particularly worried just curious I guess, it's a very different experience than my previous pregnancies. I honestly can't remember ANY pre-labor contractions, and some of these have been pretty painful.

I'm swelling a little in my legs off and on, it kind of comes and goes and I can't really figure out any specific pattern or reason, so I guess its just one of those "pregnancy things" for me at this point! I try to put my feet up some in the evenings, and definitely keep pushing as much water as I can take during the day to see if that will help.

I've been feeling her move on a regular basis, but it seems the last couple days her movements are not quite as "big" as they were before... not quite sure how to explain it. Like right now I feel what feels like her rear end maybe moving a little bit side to side, kind of bumping out, but there have been days in the past week or so where it would feel almost like a flurry of activity with repetitive little thumps and bumps and big pushes out. I still get an occassional big bump, but mostly it feels like the movements are a little smaller now - I wonder if she's starting to get cramped??! Hopefully she's still comfy cozy and its just part of her getting bigger and filling up the space she has. :)

30w5d - 65 Days To Go!!

WOW!! 65 days to go!! Pretty much halfway through September already. Where is the time going?! It's flying by for sure!

We had a whirlwind but fun weekend, Kenneth left for drill on Friday AM so Kent and I had all day Saturday together and then Sunday was a get together at the Reserve Unit for the families in the area. On Saturday we went to The Avenues and stopped at Victoria's Secret and Barnes and Noble. Kent was so excited to get the next Pokemon book that I guess just recently came out. He still loves them!! After our stop at the the Avenues, we headed on to Babies R Us and I picked up a shower gift for a fantastically wonderful friend of mine who was in Atlanta for a couple days visiting her former IFs and her surrobabe since they aren't able to come up to see her for her shower in a couple weeks. I love shopping in Babies R Us! I haven't been there in ages since most of the time I just order online and have things sent since I haven't had very many local friends to shop for! It was fun to actually wander around the store and see all the amazingly cute things! :) I love the pattern Wendy's picked out for her baby boy too - Monkeys!!

After Babies R Us, Kent and I walked next door to Sweet Tomatoes for a delicious lunch. That is such a great restaurant, and Kent really liked it too! He generally likes buffets but we never go to them, the closest one to us is Ryan's and their food just really isn't that great and definitely isn't that good for you. At least at Sweet Tomatoes they have a gorgeous salad bar that I always fill up on first and then wonderful soups to pick from in addition to their pastas, breads and potato bar. I always like trying a couple different soups, eating some of the cheesy focaccia bread and I always HAVE to have one of the hot, fresh chocolate muffins! Yummm!!

We stopped at Wal Mart on the way home and picked up a couple groceries and Kent needed a poster board for a school project. We got home and worked on his school project most of the afternoon and then in the evening I baked up two fantastic cupcake recipes!! Too Much Chocolate Cake and Carrot Cake III. Kent and I split a chocolate cupcake fresh from the oven and declared them fantastic and he was in bed when the carrot cake ones came out, so I shamelessly taste tested that one on my own! YUMMY!! I will DEFINITELY be making those again!

I let them cool overnight and on Sunday morning frosted them both. I used a jar of Duncan Hines chocolate frosting on the chocolate cupcakes (I haven't yet tried out a scratch chocolate frosting recipe, and didn't want to risk it!!) and used a cream cheese frosting recipe I modified that I found on allrecipes.com that I just LOVE! Cream Cheese Frosting II. Kent really liked it too. In fact, he had a little of a frosted carrot cake cupcake and a chocolate cupcake at the Family Day lunch and actually said he liked the carrot cake one better... I was shocked... I thought kids only liked chocolate... who knew?! :)

Around 11:30 we headed out for the Unit, I had to stop and do my glucose monitoring testing and use the bathroom when we were about half way there. I swear I have to use the bathroom every 10 minutes these days! Miss "S" is taking up plenty of room, for sure!! :)

I only have until Thursday for the monitoring, but its going really well and I'll be happy to take the results to the doctor so they can see all is well and so my IPs can also know everything is ok in that department.

I got to see my friend Wendy and give her the baby shower gift at lunch yesterday! It was soooo good to see her!! I just love her to pieces and she lives way too far away for my preference. :) She's 27 weeks prego so we got to take a couple cute belly bumping pictures after we enjoyed a DELICIOUS lunch at Seasons 52. We both had the Portabello Turkey Burgers and they were just fantastic. I told Kenneth I need to take him there one of the Friday's he comes to see me. They also serve dessert in the little glasses, I've seen it many times before but never ordered one. Oh.my.gosh. I got a peanut butter mousse with chocolate cake on bottom and chocolate shavings on top and was so completely in heaven. It was sooooooo good!!

Today I get to go to another chiropractic appointment and get a massage and I am soooo looking forward to it! They've really helped alleviate the majority of the back pain I was starting to experience and I think maybe, just maybe my incredibly tight shoulders are a little looser most days than they usually are. Kenneth goes again on Friday and Saturday for his appointments and he's really looking forward to it. Poor baby, his back is so bad and hurts him all the time. I really hope he gets some relief soon through their efforts with him!

Ok, enough rambling! Time to get back to it! :)

30w1d - Ouch! My poor fingers!

Since I am a gastric bypass patient, in lieu of doing the 1-hour glucose tolerance (gestational diabetes) test, I was told to poke myself 4 times a day for one week and use a glucose meter to track the results. I'll bring those with me to our next OB appointment on the 22nd.

It's going pretty good so far. I did a "test run" last night and have now done 3 of 4 of my finger sticks today. My levels look really good (based on my limited knowledge and understanding of what they should be) so I'm happy for that and ready for the rest of the testing to be done! The lancets are teeny tiny and only sting for a little while, but still, I've already got lovely little tiny under the skin bruises forming and I'm sure my finger tips will look like they have freckles when the week is over. I know I should just be thankful this is only a week and not an every day for the rest of my life type of thing! With my mom's history of diabetes, I should also be thankful that my levels are normal and healthy. So I will be... thankful that is! :)

Your pregnancy: 30 weeks

How your baby's growing:

Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)
We are officially 3/4 of the way through the pregnancy! Yay for another big milestone week!! We had a busy day yesterday, starting with meeting at the courthouse a little before 9:00 and having our PBO hearing. Everything went really well. It was very informal and the judge mainly listened while L&N's attorney asked us questions about the surrogacy and IVF, etc. It went quickly and was "painless". We then stopped for at the clerk's desk for certified copies and we each got one and that was that! We parted ways and I headed home and relaxed for a couple hours. On the way home, I stopped for some groceries, gas, stopped at the bank and the post office!

At home I napped a little, played some on the computer and worked on my recipe book and baked some banana muffins! I loved the recipe I tried out last week, but as I look through my giant book of recipes I realize just how many I haven't tried out yet, I will never in my lifetime be able to try even half of them! It's fun to try though. :)

A little after 3:00 I headed to meet L and her daughter "A" at the OB's office. They made us wait about an HOUR past our appointment time... ugh...!! They are so hit and miss! I felt bad for L - that is a long time to ask a 3 year old to sit and entertain herself in a waiting room, but "A" did great!

We finally got taken back, no protein in my urine, no weight gain (according to their scale) since my last appointment 3 weeks ago, and my BP is 100/50 which the midwife was very happy with. We listened to Baby "S" on the doppler and heard her beautiful strong heartbeat, such a great sound. "A" didn't seem to know quite what to think of that! :) The midwife measured my belly and I'm measuring 31 weeks now, so Miss "S" continues to grow beautifully! She said I'm carrying low and she's head down, both of which I have felt frequently - every now and then she head butts my cervix I think - so I can tell she's low, and just based on her movements she's felt head down which is fantastic! She just needs to stay that way! :)

We requested to have an ultrasound done at their office instead of at the Maternal Fetal Diagnostic Center which we had scheduled for October 14th. If we do it at the OB's office instead, "A" can come too and get to see her baby sister on the screen which will be neat!! It will be great to get measurements too, since we haven't had that since 20 weeks - she was measuring perfectly, a little ahead, then and everything has indicated she continues to grow and develop beautifully but I know it will be reassuring to see via ultrasound and get an idea of how big she's grown and about how much she weighs!

We're already throwing guesstimates for when she'll arrive! Right now I have a mid to late in the 38th week feeling for some reason. I think she'll be bigger than Fiona's 6lbs 12oz at 39w2d too.

Can't wait for the next month to fly by! "L" was saying its gone fast but now she's afraid its going to feel like time is just slowing down - I think the next month will go quickly too though and we'll be in October and planning for Halloween in no time!

I filled out the hospital pre-registration information yesterday and am sending that in today, and am going to get the paperwork I need from the OB's office to fill out my Leave Request and go ahead and contact my short term disability company to get that started as well. It's exciting to be handling some of these details already and know its really TIME to be thinking about all of this!! In about another 4-6 weeks I'll get my hospital bag packed up, though it takes a lot of pressure off knowing Kenneth will be here this time. I know he'll be a HUGE help in getting everything coordinated when it comes time to actually go to the hospital and all that entails.

We talked yesterday with the attorney about "L" and I setting up a meeting with the Hospital Administrator and asking some of our questions and making sure they are all aware of our situation and have the paperwork they need on file. "L" would like to find out if they can get their own room, since they're local and will have a lot of family wanting to stop by which is a great idea and I really hope the hospital will be able to accomodate and hopefully we can room near each other so I can stop in and see them while I'm there too! It would be nice to be able to get some uninterrupted sleep while there (aside from them coming in every few hours for vitals!!) and also have the privacy to share with my family when they're visiting as well. :)

I am excited to think about and plan for delivery and just hope everything continues to go as well as it has been as we edge closer to November!

29w5d - 72 days to go!

Our PBO hearing and OB check in are next week - it seriously seems like the past 3 weeks have FLOWN by! I can't believe that much time has passed since our last OB check in and the last time I saw my IM! Where is the time going??! I'm not complaining at all, I'm so excited to see the days tick by and get closer and closer to the grand finale and seeing Miss "S" with her parents!

I'm close enough now to delivery that I'm trying to figure out what I want to do about visiting my family in Washington in December. Kenneth and I talked about it a little, but we need to actually settle on a plan and I need to go ahead and just get my ticket and keep fingers crossed that the timing works out. My game plan is to go the full first week of December by myself. I see no reason why I would deliver so early that it wouldn't work for me to be on maternity leave during that time, but then again you never know and so it still makes actually trying to nail down plans a little difficult. Part of me is tempted to just wait until I actually deliver to finalize plans, but I don't want to get stuck with a ridiculously expensive ticket either... decisions, decisions!!

It's Tuesday again, which means another visit to the chiropractor and another massage! I LOVE TUESDAYS now!! :) They have been soooo wonderfully relaxing and really good for the permanent knots it feels like I have carried around in my upper shoulders/neck for the past 4-5 years, since the auto accidents I was in. It has also really helped with back fatigue now that my stomach is getting bigger and its pulling my spine out of alignment on a regular basis.

Kenneth went for his first appointment last Friday and has a follow up today. I've been trying to get him to a chiropractor for YEARS so I'm VERY glad he's finally going! I am keeping my fingers crossed he sees some good improvement soon. He is in some form of pain every day of his life, and I really hope they will be able to alleviate some of that for him and maybe he will start sleeping better too. One can hope!

I'm tired again today, but nothing new. It's becoming the "norm" I think. But its ok, for the most part it doesn't affect me too much. I do find myself being a little shorter tempered from time to time and have to try to watch that!!

I'll get a new belly picture posted on Thursday - I can't wait to see if there's any change!! Everyone keeps telling me how small I am for where I'm at... I have gained a lot less than last pregnancy, but this little bean is bigger than Miss Fiona was, so who knows what I'll end up looking like with 10 more weeks to go!! :)

Your pregnancy: 29 weeks

How your baby's growing:

Your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain. To meet his increasing nutritional demands, you'll need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. And because his bones are soaking up lots of calcium, be sure to drink your milk (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice). This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited in your baby's hardening skeleton each day.
We're just cruising right along! Almost into the "30's"! So excited for next week! :)

Everything is going well. I've had some nasty leg cramps the last couple days, in fact I had one on my way into work today that I thought might just make me have to pull over, but thankfully I made it. Traffic was nasty too, and it hurt every time I had to break - that didn't work for me so well!!

I've been having fun in the kitchen lately, rediscovering allrecipes.com and trying out some great new things to keep us all well fed and keep everyone from getting too bored with the same things! I love trying out new things! I made three new recipes last night. French Market Sandwiches, Sweet Restaurant Slaw and Garlic Red Potatoes! The Mini Meatball Subs I made a couple days ago were great too. We've had so much good stuff lately, we have to eat leftovers tonight to make some space! I also got my fantastic Farmer's Market basket on Tuesday, so we're loaded up with tons of yummy fresh fruits and veggies! I am making grilled bok choy tomorrow - I've never had it before, so this should be interesting!! :)

Most of the cravings I had last week seemed to have stayed in last week, though everytime I see a Snicker's bar in the candy bowl up front I "have" to have it. Sigh, I really hope that one goes away soon - the scale isn't going to be my friend much longer if I keep it up!! :)

I'm about to send a quick e-mail to the attorney's office for a check in on anything I need to know for next week's PBO hearing. I didn't have to attend anything last time, so this is new and different for me! Hopefully it's pretty straight forward!
