P90X Has Begun!

I logged into http://www.teambeachbody.com/ for the first time in ages yesterday and updated my account, set up our meal plan for the coming weeks, and last night Kenneth and I suffered through our first workout! It was Chest and Back and my shoulders and back are feeling it today! I had my chiropractor appointment today so at least I got a nice adjustment and massage to help. My neck is still feeling really tight.

Kenneth came up for his chiro appointment today too and we just got back from a quick lunch at a local Thai restaurant - I had Pad Thai, yummy! :) We have plyometrics tonight and I'm looking forward to it, but Kenneth isn't because it's fairly high impact and hurts his back. I wish he would look into other options for his back, he's in pain a lot because of it and at least he's finally going to the chiro, but I really think he needs to talk to his doctor about other options for pain management and possibly surgery. It's pretty messed up and hurts him most of the time.

School starts back up for him on January 10th and I know he's not looking forward to it, but I am so excited for him to be starting his final semester! It's a huge deal for all of us and I know he's worked really hard to get through it all and finish up and I'm so proud of him!

Kent has this one last week off from school and then starts back next Monday, I know he's not looking forward to that but he is excited to go spend the weekend with his grandparents. Kenneth and I get the long weekend home alone! :) We're boring though, so I doubt we'll be doing anything other than hanging out at the house, catching up on some TV shows through Netflix and getting the Christmas decorations put up! :)

Christmas is Over!

Can you believe it? Christmas has come and gone... the office is like a ghost town this morning, with pretty much no activity at all so I feel like I am here all by myself! :)

Christmas was just beautiful this year - we stayed home, just the three of us. I woke up at 7:00 and got Kent and Kenneth up and we opened stockings together and then got some sausage balls cooking in the oven while we opened a few presents. We had cocoa, coffee and munched while we opened the rest of our gifts. There were plenty - Kent had piles and got so many new books to read and fun lego sets to build! He was a happy kid!

Kenneth absolutely spoiled me with a gorgeous diamond journey necklace that I have been lusting after for awhile. It is soooo pretty and sparkly! :) I love it! I also got a new pots & pans set that I have been wanting from Kenneth's family - my other set we bought probably 10 years ago for $40 at WalMart or something like that, and with how much I love to cook that poor set has been beaten up pretty bad so I'm thrilled to have a beautiful new set and can't wait to do some stovetop cooking with it! :)

We snacked throughout the afternoon on shrimp cocktail and cheese and crackers and then fixed a very nice Christmas dinner of Honeybaked Ham, corn casserole, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes and cranberry jelly. It was delicious! Last night I fixed a batch of homemade rolls and we used the ham to make sandwiches to go with the leftover sides. Yum!

It was really a great day together, and the extra cool thing was that sometime in the late morning "Let It Snow" was playing and Kent looked outside and said "It IS snowing!!" and it didn't stop all day! It stuck, and stayed the whole next day too with  more snow flurries. It was so beautiful and I was so excited to get a white Christmas!! Thankfully even though you can still see the snow all over today, it wasn't enough to stick to the roads so driving was fine but I still get to see and enjoy the beautiful sno all over the ground. I wish I could be home playing with Kent in it today! I am glad he's getting to enjoy it on his break though - and I know he'll get even more snow when he goes to visit his grandparents over this coming weekend in the mountains!

I can't believe we'll be in a whole new year by this Saturday! Less than a week left in 2010... it has been an amazing year... one filled with a lot of ups and downs, triumps and tears. A lot of self-discovery and learning to fall in love with my husband all over again too. A surrogacy pregnancy, from start to finish and hopes for an egg donation sometime in the coming year and maybe my own pregnancy too! Kent continues to come into his own, and embrace who he is and continues to grow, grow, grow! He's already around 5'2" and he just keeps on stretching out! I am planning to get him involved in Football next school year - he definitely has the build for it. Kenneth came back from his second oversees combat tour in February and has finished up another semester of school and already made steps to secure a great job after he graduates in May - just one more semester to go! I love my little family with all my heart and am so glad to have shared this last year with them, even if at times it was hard or scary or painful, those moments have made all the hugs, kisses and laughter that much more special and meaningful. I am so thankful for what I have.

So Quiet!

It's so quiet at the office today!! I'm thinking it will probably be an early day... I got to drive my pretty car (my Corvette) today - Kent and Kenneth replaced the brake pads on it on Monday and then broke the brakes in yesterday for me so I could drive it again today. I sure do love that car! I've had it for 3 years now and am so glad we bought it, even if it was kind of a "silly" thing to do! Kenneth has his motorcycles and I have my Vette, and we still have the "family car" (our Ford Focus) and his 2 project trucks! We have vehicle issues, I know. We have 5 vehicles and 5 dogs and 3 people... we are outnumbered. :)

It is rainy and overcast today and I can see the wind whipping the flag in the center of the turn around back and forth. I keep thinking about the coming year and am just so excited for it! I know every new year brings that feeling most times, but this one in particular is very exciting to me - so many big changes and good things to come and I'm just so filled with hope and happiness and anticipation! I cannot WAIT for Kenneth to have his degree! That will be such a HUGE day for us! Over 10 years in the making, and he will finally be done and not have to go back anymore - he can move on and get a job that he's happy with and not have to think about school anymore! I know how unhappy it makes him to be in school, and even though its been hard for all of us, I realize its been hardest on him for many reasons. He doesn't like not being the one to be working, to be the bread winner of the family, he knows finishing school in the long run will enable him to have a good job that he's happy with, but in the mean time I know it has been hard for him to let me be the one to hold down the full time job and support us. I am just so thankful that I've been able to do that!

Just a couple more days until Christmas! Happy Holidays to everyone! :)

Back to Routine!

Day two back at the office and things are going well so far - I am enjoying being back even though I miss sleeping in, lounging before showering and getting so much time with my boys. I miss them both all day! I am glad for the weeks I had and all that I was able to do, but it is nice to be at work and feel productive and feel like I'm contributing to our finances again as well!

I can't believe Christmas will be here in just 4 more days and then the year will just about be over! We're staying home for Christmas this year instead of going up to Kenneth's parent's cabin in the moutains. I'm a little bummed since I love the family get togethers and being surrounded by people, but Kenneth asked that we have this year just us. It will be nice to have time just the three of us and enjoy a little down time together.

We had a little family get together on the 19th at Kenneth's grandmother's house and brought back all of the gifts from them for under our tree - it is completely overflowing now. Kent is so excited and can't wait for Christmas! I didn't realize just how much we'd gotten him until I would finish wrapping one, and then there would be another and another and another to wrap. I got him a lot of smaller ticket items this year instead of one big ticket and a couple smaller items - so it didn't feel like a whole lot until I saw it all at one time! It's going to take him a long time to unwrap everything! :) I can't wait to watch him and take lots and lots of pictures!

My throat is a little sore and I can't figure out if its the weather or if I'm actually possibly getting sick. I am forbidding that from happening though! Only one more day of work this week and then we all have Thursday and Friday off for the Holiday and I want to really enjoy it! Kent and I will probably do some baking on Thursday and I'm hoping we can get to the Animal Shelter to take the puppies some treats and give them some pets. We did that last year around the Holidays and it was special and I would like to do it again this year.

Kenneth's Birthday is on the 24th - and I already got him a big gift but did get him one small thing so he has something to unwrap on his day, and of course a card too and we're going to fix his favorite dinner that evening. We picked up a new motorcycle for him a little over a week ago now - a Ducati. It is beautiful. He's been wanting a sport bike ever since we sold his Yamaha 3 years ago and I decided this was a good time to do it, and I really do like this bike too. I need to practice on the Harley and get comfortable because I really want to ride it! :)

I guess that's it for now - just enjoying the last couple days before Christmas and hoping the rain stays away for the rest of the afternoon so commuting isn't too awful!

Where Has the Time GONE?!

I cannot believe it! I'm on my last week of maternity leave already... sigh... and the week is almost over too! We've been busy, busy, getting ready for Christmas, shopping, errands, decorating the house, appointments, and spending time together. It's been so nice. I have loved being home, a lot! I have missed work some, but I really do love being stay at home mom and wife. It's very refreshing for a change of pace. I love having time to put together meals and cooking breakfast and lunch during the day. It's been nice to know Kent has gotten a good hot breakfast before school these past few weeks.

We have an early Christmas get together with Kenneth's family this weekend on Sunday and then work on Monday!

I am trying to finish up my shopping hopefully tomorrow. I've been struggling with what to get for aunts/uncles and grandparents and really need to get all my Washington family's gifts sent out ASAP so I think I finally have it all figured out and just need to finish the shopping up tomorrow, wrap tomorrow evening and mail on Friday. Friday will be busy with my OB appointment and then our chiro appointment.
